Por “lidar com”, quero dizer como você o remove, usando alguma configuração muito específica que chegou a por pura força bruta, ou como você pelo menos minimiza os efeitos?
Eu tentei os drivers proprietários e livres, versões diferentes, kernels diferentes, configurações X diferentes e opções de driver. Ainda estou para tentar gerenciadores de janelas diferentes, porque simplesmente não tenho tempo para mexer com isso também.
Em vez de reinventar a roda, talvez alguém já conheça uma boa configuração que irá minimizar esses efeitos adversos efeitos enquanto esperamos Wayland obter mais tração. Como kirill-a sugere na outra pergunta: “Portanto, o problema de tela pode ser resolvido tentando diferentes drivers e configurando-os.”
Que combinação de gerenciador de janelas, drivers, kernel (por favor, mencione opções específicas do kernel que são cruciais), a configuração do X e o reprodutor de mídia irão me dar os melhores resultados?

Qual placa gráfica (qual modelo Nvidia)?

driver proprietário e nenhum driver nouveau
, não vi rasgo com vários DVDs – All Seasons of Breaking Bad e Oblivion, para citar alguns, e uma assinatura do Hulu para o Dr Who e outros no Chromium Stable. Eu também desativei a placa de vídeo onboard em favor da versão AGP da placa listada. Em 3 anos eu não tive que fazer nada importante, exceto algumas atualizações de disco rígido e substituir uma placa de rede sem fio

Eu estava tendo muitos problemas com NVidia no Arch. Tentei a sugestão nesta resposta à pergunta que você vinculou. Eliminou-a completamente para mim.
Isso é com o driver NVidia proprietário mais recente. Não vi nenhum rasgo perceptível desde no Mate (marco) e no LXDE ( openbox).
