Forza lespulsione di un dispositivo

Ho sentito che così facendo si danneggerà (o si romperà, nel peggiore dei casi) lunità, quindi mi chiedo se esiste un modo per forzare lespulsione di un dispositivo che eviterebbe il danno fisico. Devo forzare lespulsione perché lunità (come altre unità ordinarie) proverà a leggere un blocco più e più volte fino a quando non legge correttamente o raggiunge il timeout. Quando si blocca cercando di leggere un blocco danneggiato, il kernel bloccherà il processo / thread fino a quando non cè un risultato. Lapplicazione in attesa di I / O si comporterà come se fosse stata arrestata, quindi anche usando force quit / sigkill non si chiuderà lapplicazione. Poiché il timeout è solitamente lungo per lHHD per uso domestico, il componente principale della GUI del sistema (Finder + Dock) si bloccherà a lungo, impedendo così il normale utilizzo.

Notare che lespulsione forzata di un dispositivo non è lequivalente dello smontaggio forzato di una partizione. Espulsione forzata dellHDD farà atterrare lintestazione di lettura / scrittura nella zona di parcheggio e lunità smetterà di girare.

Modifica: ho sostituito la mia unità con una nuova (lo stesso modello, in realtà) e ho usato ddrescue per copiare tutti i dati. Ho trovato 3 aree difettose che sono ~ 1 MB ciascuna. ddrescue si è bloccato quando incontra queste aree danneggiate (sto usando laccesso al disco non elaborato, cioè / dev / rdiskX), quindi non è un problema di sistema.
